Youth Pastor

Community Alliance Church | Detroit Lakes, MN

 

The time has come to hire our next youth pastor. We are a church that highly values reaching, equipping, and empowering future generations to be the church. We are looking for someone who is first abiding in deep relationship with Christ, and out of that, is compelled to make disciples who follow God and His will.


Overview

  • Job Position: Full-time Youth Pastor

  • Church Size: 350 – 450

  • Youth Group Size: 60 - 80

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in ministry preferred, Licensure in the C&MA, or a willingness to obtain licensure within the next three years.

  • Experience preferred: Youth ministry or classroom experience of three years or more

Who We Are:

  • Community Alliance Church in Detroit Lakes, MN is a multi-generational, Christ-Centered church that exists to abide and grow in relationship with God, connect with others, and reach our community and world. Located in the land of lakes, Detroit Lakes is a summer tourist hub with lots of fun activities for the entire family including: great live music, art festivals, farmers market, flea market, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, community festivals, musical theater, unique shopping, lots of restaurants, and anything you can think of to do on or around a lake! In winter, it’s the home of Polar Fest - a two-week winter festival, plus plenty of opportunity for downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing and snowmobiling!

Our Current Ministry Rhythms:

  • Wednesday Night youth gathering. 6th - 8th grade currently meets 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. and High School students meet from 8:15 - 9:45 p.m.

  • Sunday morning gathering during Sunday School hour. Middle School and High school students again meet in different spaces.

  • Various Bible Study groups throughout the week (often led by a volunteer team member or could be led by students)

  • 3-year rotation of Life Conference - Overseas Mission Trip - Domestic Mission Trip with an emphasis on partnership with C&MA missionaries.

  • Fundraising: Working with a team to help students see God’s provision for what He has called them to here and around the world.

  • Desire to help students realize how they are uniquely gifted to minister to others and carry out the mission of God (Ephesians 2:10).

  • We desire to have a staff culture of Gospel partnership that creates synergy and community to answer God’s call to affect lostness. This includes attending staff meetings, collaborating with other staff on ministry projects, and taking time to have fun with everyone on staff!

  • Intentionally leading volunteer youth leaders to relationally disciple youth towards a closer relationship with Jesus.

  • Encouraging and equipping parents as they parent and disciple their teenagers.
